Common issues and solutions
This error means the server OpenAI API key is missing or invalid. Only server admins can fix this.
This is not your fault. Contact support to notify administrators of the configuration issue.
CSRF tokens expire for security. This happens if you leave a page open for too long.
Refresh the page (Cmd/Ctrl + R) to get a new CSRF token.
Browser Settings → Privacy → Clear cookies → Logout and log back in.
Recall.ai API may be temporarily unavailable. Status will update when API recovers.
Refresh to retry status check. If bot is still recording, it's working fine.
Look in the actual meeting participant list. If bot is there, recording is working despite status error.
Diarization service is experiencing issues. Transcription will continue without speaker labels.
You'll get the full transcription, just without speaker identification (SPEAKER_00, etc).
Wait a few hours and re-upload the file with diarization enabled to get speaker labels.
Either your connection is unstable, or the server is under heavy load.
Click retry or refresh page and try again.
Ensure you have stable internet connection. Try accessing other websites.
If server is overloaded, wait 10-15 minutes and try again.
This is different from plan limits. The file exceeds the absolute maximum (500 MB for uploads, 600 MB for processing).
Compress audio to a lower bitrate or split into smaller files.
The server encountered an unexpected error. This is not your fault.
Wait 5-10 minutes and try again. Most 500 errors resolve automatically.
If error continues for >1 hour, report to support with error details.
Your session expired. Logout and log back in.
You're trying to access a feature not available on your plan. Check plan limits.
You can only access your own transcriptions or those explicitly shared with you.
