  • Valid Zoom meeting URL
  • Meeting must allow participants to join

How to Record a Zoom Meeting

  1. 1Go to your dashboard
  2. 2Click "Record Meeting" or press M on keyboard
  3. 3Paste your Zoom meeting URL (e.g., https://zoom.us/j/123456789)
  4. 4Platform is auto-detected as Zoom
  5. 5Click "Join Meeting"
  6. 6Bot joins and starts recording automatically
  7. 7Wait for the meeting to finish
  8. 8Transcription appears in your dashboard

Zoom Meeting URL Formats

What the Bot Does

  • Joins meeting as "TranscribeNext Bot"
  • Appears in participant list
  • Stays silent (no audio output)
  • Records all audio
  • Captures screen share (if enabled)
  • Leaves automatically when meeting ends

Pro Tip

Let other participants know the bot is recording for transparency. Most meeting platforms show a recording indicator.

Bot Status Indicators

  • 🟡 JOINING - Bot is connecting to meeting
  • 🟢 IN_MEETING - Bot is in the meeting and recording
  • 🔵 RECORDING - Active recording in progress
  • 🟣 PROCESSING - Meeting ended, creating transcription
  • ✅ COMPLETED - Transcription ready
  • ❌ FAILED - Bot couldn't join or recording failed

Troubleshooting

If the bot fails to join:

  • Check if the meeting URL is correct
  • Verify the meeting hasn't ended
  • Ensure the meeting allows participants to join
  • Check if waiting room is disabled (or admit the bot)
  • Verify your subscription is active

Important

Zoom hosts can remove the bot from meetings. If you're not the host, ask for permission before recording.
